  1. What are the levels of membership?


    The Emergency membership includes your emergency information such as: photo identification, emergency card, primary care doctor, medications, allergies, medical insurance carrier, emergency contact information, blood type, and other general health information. There is a monthly charge to maintain the account. Also available is the ability to store your Health Care Proxy, (there is a one time additional charge).


    The Gold membership includes all the benefits of "Emergency Membership", plus a scanned sortable database of your medical records. All you need to do is enter your doctor's information - we will do the rest. With your permission, we secure copies of your medical records, scan and up-load them into your personal, sortable database. You can search for your records by date, doctor or type of record. There is a monthly charge to maintain and update the account.


    The Platinum membership includes all the benefits of "Gold Membership", with a higher volume of scanned medical records included for your medical database. All you need to do is enter your doctor's information - we will do the rest. With your permission, we secure copies of your medical records, scan and up-load them into your personal, sortable database. You can search for your records by date, doctor or type of record. There is a monthly charge to maintain and update the account.


    The basic family membership includes emergency information such as: photo identification, emergency card, primary care doctor, medications, allergies, medical insurance carrier, emergency contact information, blood type, and other general health information for each family member, (up to 6 people total).   2. How does it work?

    Go to www.mymedexchange.com, register, and then enter your basic chart information to get started. Then add your doctors information, sign the release for us to obtain a copy of your records for scanning ? we will do the rest, (contact your doctor, have the records scanned and entered into your personal sortable database. We will confirm each step via email. You will also receive an emergency medical card to carry at all times.

  3. What happens in case of an emergency?

    Should you not be able to communicate, your emergency medical card will have an emergency contact as well as a temporary username and log-in for emergency personnel to "view only" your vital statistics and medical history, (current medications, blood type, allergies, etc.). They can also see your primary doctor as well as medical insurance.

  4. How secure is my information?

    My Med Exchange uses a high level of security to protect the confidentiality and privacy of all your healthcare information. The site and files reside on a dedicated secure server that is encrypted ? the information is regularly backed up in multiple locations. To prevent others from viewing your private information please remember to log out after using this service.

  6. How long will it take to be up and running?

    The basic chart information entered by the individual is available to be entered and accessed immediately after the registration process. Copying the medical files, having them scanned then sorted into the database usually takes several weeks depending on how fast the doctors respond. The records are shipped via UPS so we have a record of tracking each package.

  7. How is it updated?

    After each doctor visit, log onto your site and click on the ?Update Medical Documents? tab ? select or add the doctor you visited ? My Med Exchange will do the rest.

  8. What happens to the documents after they are copied and scanned?

    You will be asked to select between having the copies sent to your home or have them shredded.

  9. How accurate is the information?

    All the information in your file is a 100% scanned copy of your records ? we do not retype any information, so it is the same as your health care provider. The information in your personal chart is entered by you ? be sure it is correct, print it out and review it for accuracy.

  10. What types of information can I store?

    Everything from eyeglass prescriptions to dental records; as well as X-rays, CAT scans, MRIs, EKGs, blood work, family history and more.

    Yes, you can print out all information to bring with you to a doctor?s office.

    You can search the database by document type and doctor?s name and date.

  13. What happens if a family member gets sick while traveling in another country?

    Log in to the website to access all the documentation that is required. Show the emergency card to the healthcare facility if you do not remember you code.

    You are able to enter the exact medications with dosage to your site as well as allergies to food or medication.

  15. Is there a limitation for the number of records?

    There is no limitation. Note: The first 150 pages are included in your initial registration. However, because of the cost of copies and scans and database sorting, any pages over 150 will be assessed at $4.75 per page.

  16. What happens if I change my mind?

    Satisfaction is guaranteed - If you decide that for any reason that you are not satisfied send us a letter and you will be removed from the database ? you will be refunded the full amount less the cost of time and material of the work completed. You may request a hard copy of your files as well.

  17. Why is there a photo?

    The photo allows for positive identification for the client and all family members. In case of a missing person it is a quick way to always have a current photo id.

  18. How can I allow my doctor temporary access to my site?

    Each subscriber will have a personal user name and password, an emergency user name and password, and a temporary doctor?s username and password. Each is designed to allow access to the database for specific circumstances.

  19. Can I access the site on my iPhone?

    Yes, this format is supported by mobile devices ? it is fully functional.

  20. Why do I have to re-type my user name and password when I want to view my medical records?

    While the entire site is a secure site, your medical records are in a different location than your personal information. In order to protect your records from unauthorized viewing, we ask that you re-enter your user name and password only one extra time per login.
